“The OSCARS” – this name is a complete world itself. All the celebrities, either they are of Hollywood, Bollywood or any other film industry around the world, all struggle hard to hooked that golden statuette in their hands.

This year the 89th Academy Award ceremony was held on February 26, 2017 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. For the prestige of the Films of 2016, there were 24 categories altogether. The nominees of OSCARS 2017 were announced on January 24, 2017, where the most nominations were of “LA LA LAND” and that were 14… a record that is same as to the movie “TITANIC (1997) holds and “ALL ABOUT EVE” holds.

American Broadcasting Company (ABC) telecast the whole ceremony, which was directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Jennifer Todd and Michael De Luca. The hosting onus was done by the popular comedian Jimmy Kimmel and that was his first time hosting this extravaganza event. Jimmy actually nailed it with his witticism and hilarious speeches. Take a look to his Oscars Monologue.

Besides the late-night show stopper – Jimmy Kimmel’s gags, the show experienced an unexpected freakish thing. When it comes to the best film of the year award announcement… a blunder occurred. When the 1967’s film “Bonnie and Clyde” co-stars enlighten the stage with their mesmerizing memories.

Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were handed over with an envelope for the Best Picture award. Beatty opened up the envelope to reveal the surprise but got a little confused by the contents written over it… he passed on the card to his former co-star. There was LA LA LAND written under the name of Emma Stone, without any further delay Dunaway announced the best picture of the year award. The whole theatre filled up with applaud and cheers… All the crew of La La Land was hugging and celebrating the win.

The acceptance speeches had begun then suddenly some disturbance started among the back lined stars of great musical romance.. Then Jordan Horowitz, the producer of La La Land, came forward by saying that

“No no.. there’s a mistake. Moonlight you guys won the best picture.”
Oh gosh.. everyone was burst out with chaos… hey whats going on is this some kind of a joke… Jordan Horowitz, maintaining the composure said
“No it’s not a joke… Moonlight is one best picture!”

All of a sudden the whole scene had been changed… with great sophistication Jordan Horowitz handed over the golden statuette to the director of Moonlight Barry Jenkins. When two were hugging each other Warren Beatty explained what actually happened, while the stage started filling up with the Steve Harvey Moonlight stars..
This all surely reminds the Steve Harvey’s bungle that he has made while announcing the Miss Universe 2015. Now he can thankfully pass on his title to  Warren Beatty. The next morning to Oscars 2017 he tweeted:
“I’d like to say in the words of Martin Luther King: ‘Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty, I’m free at last. Because Warren Beatty made this mistake, does he have to die?” Harvey asked. “Should he lose his life for this? Y’all want to kill him? Will he need security because of this?”
Well then the Moonlight crew started their speeches but the expressions on their faces were priceless. They all were so surprised, thankful and amazed .. so as the whole audience over there… no body can stop shaking their heads off on this unexceptional happening.
Well later on the organizers of the biggest award ceremony marked their apologies to both.
“We apologize to the entire cast and crew of La La Land and Moonlight whose experience was profoundly altered by this error, We salute the tremendous grace they displayed under the circumstances.”

The investigations said that the PriceWaterhouseCoopers accountant Brian Cullinan was supposed to hand the best picture envelope to presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway on Sunday.Cullinan had a complete set of envelopes on one side of the stage, while Martha Ruiz, another PwC accountant, had a duplicate set on the other.

This explains why both best actress winner Emma Stone and Beatty ended up in possession of an envelope related to the best actress award.

Emma Stone was declared the Best Actress of the year 2016 for her romantic flick La La Land. The witty, charming lady was so emotional while receiving the award.. she almost lost herself. This award became more precious for her because it was presented by the famous Titanic heartthrob Leonardo De Caprio, who also won his first ever Oscar last year.
